So I do have some big plans for my wagon I suppose so I figured I'd keep track of it at the expense of annoying you all. So a couple months ago I got a 2002 WRX Wagon in white with 170,000 miles :eek2: but it had a motor rebuild and was definitely looking for a better owner than the previous one. Anyways so after I got it running right lol I moved on to what I wanted to do with the car. In my personal taste there is nothing better than a Subaru rally car and decided I wanted to create a car that in my own way would emulate one of those and have the same harsh condition capability.

Currently on Car
  • changed gear oil to Valvoline Full Synth
  • made an I/C sprayer running off the wiper resevoir
  • made mudflaps out of Kenworth truck flaps
  • Pentosin Super Dot 4
  • Stoptech Sport Slotted Rotors
  • Stoptech Sport Pads
  • Stoptech SS Braided Brakelines
  • Yellow Vinyl Wrapped Fogs
  • Cobra 18WX ST2 CB with Wilson 4' Fiberglass Antenna
  • Grimmspeed Heatsield
  • Silicone Vacuum & Throttle Body Hoses
  • K&N Typhoon Intake
  • Prodrive Hot Side Turbo Piping
  • SuperPro Steering Rack Bushings
  • Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering Springs (Forester XT full suspension pending installation)
  • 17" BRZ rims wrapped in Ohtsu FP7000 All-Seasons (looking into Sparco Terras for future rim choice)
  • Cree 4" LED Light Pods
  • 2x Hella Rallye 4000 Metal
  • SR*S Catback Exhaust
  • Whiteline Polyurethane 20mm Front Swaybar Bushings
  • Muteki Super Tuner Nut Lugnuts (Purple)
  • Koiler 600W Amp powering a Kicker CVR 10"
  • Energy Suspension Front and Rear Shifter Bushings
  • Kartboy Lockdown Bolts
  • Cusco Spinturn Handbrake Knob
  • NGK Iridium Plugs

Future Plans
  • STI Cluster
  • Rear Swaybar (20 or 22mm)
  • Custom Fiberglass Sub Box
  • Kartboy Endlinks
  • JDM Hoodscoop
  • Trans and Motor Mounts
  • Shift Knob (looking into Kartboy Delrin)

So far this is about all I have completed however I have multiple items in the works. I bought 6 Forester XT struts (2 with koni yellow inserts) as I'm sure some have seen me asking around about on the forum to no avail and (I'll try dirtyimpreza) plan on lifting the ol' girl and a CB radio I'm installing atm.

So I'll start off this build thread with what I did tonight which was fit my CB radio into my center console thingy right under my radio. Luckily the radio I purchased (Cobra 18 WX ST II) fit perfectly beneath the cheap JVC radio in the car. I had to drill out the holders that bolt the radio up into the console to fit the screws I had for the CB View attachment 231034
from there on it was smooth sailing as the radio it nice and snug just have to trim up some plastic to make fit. Now I'm just waiting onn a fuse holder in the mail to get it all wired up and still deciding on an antenna(thinking of going with fiberglass) and I'm open to suggestions on that aspect. Happy with the fit of the CB considering I bought it without any measurements let alone the idea of fitting it under the radio.

So here's my build, lots of plans, little funds and little time. I'm in highxschool so this build might be a little slow but hey I'm making an effort. At my school I'm known as the "kid who drives that subaru" lol. There is another kid at my school who drives a really clean and tasteful Forester XT but that's about it. Me and that kid park next to each other in this neighborhood across the street from our school in front of a house that has an STI in the driveway, gotta stick together right! Anyways I'll get some pics up of the car tomorrow hopefully and that's about it!

Here's a Google Drive folder that I will keep with pics on the maintenance and general pics of the car. Each folder is labeled on what the pics were of and about and should be viewable by anyone.

Got the radio to fit into the dash real clean today, had to do some extra drilling and grinding to get it to fit. Ordered heat shrink tubing, wire taps, fuses, and fuse holders to wire it up to power. Planning on connecting direct lead to the batter and tapping in the accessory line into a wire above the cabin fuse box that should work as a switch 12v. Maybe I'll post a DIY on installing a cb if there already isn't one.

Recently I wrapped the fogs in yellow vinyl, really light the look of the yellow fogs. Also did a complete brake fluid flush with Valvoline DOT3 fluid. CB is installed, powers on and transmits/receives. Unfortunately threw a cel code today, going to diagnose tomorrow and after that is resolved I plan on lifting the car.

folder is updated with some more pics

I'll look into that, well next thing I would like to do is go through most of the bushings on the suspension, steering, and transmission then get a short shifter and hopefully in the future go stage 1. I would rather go stage 1 over stage 2 as I feel I don't want to deal with messing with the downpipe and cats especially in California. Plus if I do decide to get a catless, cops in my area are mean and would certainly pull me over for the smell and if they saw a flame, the cops here aren't fans of japanese cars.

Here are those glorious bugeye headlights! Finished up painting the grill and other plastics around the radiator and fogs black because they had tons of white paint over spray on them. Recently it threw a CEL code for catalytic converter below threshold but it has since gone away?? When i first saw the CEL i told myself that if it had to do with the cat I would get a catless dp so :)

So I took apart the headliner to finish some work mounting the antenna for my cb and I put some reindeer antlers on for the holidays but I managed to utterly destroy my phone so I don't have pics. Now I'm getting the cel code P0420 (cat below threshold) when I go on the highway? Any ideas for fixes, I know it could be 02 sensor, fpr, and various other parts including the cats themselves but any reason why it would be intermittent and only on the highway? Also I plan on installing the forester suspension over my break from school next week and getting her aligned.

Just installed steering rack bushings today, man was it a pain to get the drivers side one on, they just don't want to set in to steering rack but I managed to get it on after fighting with it for about an hour. Steering feels much more control and responsive however the improvement really isn't worth the struggle of install. However they are a good valued mod and a good use of half a saturday. :)

Painted the hoodscoop to match the rest of the car. Doesn't look too bad from 5 feet away but you can tell there is a difference when you look at the hood. Considering I did it for 9 bucks with spray paint I'm pretty content. I'll probably redo it down the road with a more accurately matching paint.

So I've gotten some stuff done recently on the wagon. I finished up installing the Stoptech slotted rotors, stainless steel lines, and pads. I'm liking them so far good bite and really brake hard when you need it.

Also installed two Cree LED Light pods. They have decent light output and can't be disappointed for less than 20 bucks. Fabbed up an aluminum bracket and mounted them on the hinge for the hood.

Lastly, I installed those stupid turn signals in the mirrors. Man what a PITA, literally the most useless and labor intensive mod ever. Might do a write up on it lol.

Thanks STI, never saw this comment lol. Brakes are feeling good after a good 1,000 miles. Haven't experienced fade yet and they bite pretty good. They get up to op temp after I catch 3-4 stop lights lol.

Slowly working on the girl, looking to do some repairs with the front end soon so modding is being put on hold. Just as of August did complete tie rod ends, wheel bearings, hubs, and a ball joint and just recently got it aligned. I need to get a front subframe adjustment  and then can get a better alignment dialed in. Here is my only pic of how she sits right now:

So a couple of days ago I got rear ended when the guy sitting behind me at a light decided to gas it into the back of my car. Damage was not to bad but he wanted to go through insurance so now I'm stuck with that hassle.

No damage to his car, poor Rukia took all of the brunt. It was low speed so no one injured and no major damage which is good. Still pissed though :nono:

Little update:
So I fixed a squeaky exhaust on the wagon. The exhaust system didn't have either of the bolts that support it around the trans so got some bolts and put those in. Sounding good so far. Put on a set of Muteki Super Tuner Nuts in purple that repaced the other lug nuts I had on that stripped. I also put in some whiteline 20mm Front Swaybar Bushings. They helped tighten up a little bit of the body roll and I'm overall content. I put on some tape for a little more aggressive look on the lights.

Also picked up a 10" Kicker CVR Sub and Koiller 600W amp on craiglist and wired it in the same day. I'm still in the wiring process waiting for a switch in the mail so i'll get some pictures of that too.

Finally, In summary, putting a little more time into the car recently and just ordered a new grill and a Cusco hand brake button. Looking to get a new shift knob, Kartboy lockdown bolts, and put the money I got from being rear ended towards cam seals and motor/trans mounts.
