Removing the cats for track purposes only?

My STI is basically stock. I want some more power for those days that I am at the track. When speaking with an exhaust vendor, he suggested I remove my cats for the day and install a racing pipe designed for the STI. I think one cat may remain if there is one on the DP portion of the exhaust.

My question is would this reduce a significant amount of restriction to such an extent that I would really notice it on the track? What do you think? Worth it?

I'm more of a dog person to be honest with you. :D :D :D

Get rid of restriction. Youll notice the difference. Get a good down pipe and leave the cat back on.

Id just get a used downpipe somthing like the hks for 100 bucks. once you are used to the install it will take 30mins to do. The first time takes longer because of all the heatshield bolts but after that install you odnt even have to take the intercooler off.
