Do you guys see any problems with partially wrapping a Helix dp with header wrap to minimize heat soak?

I have a Speedmonkee heatshield on right now but it gets really hot as well.

I don't know why it would be a problem...I'd like to do it too.
On a sort-of related note, I have a temp. sensor wired into the engine, and can put it next to anything if you want to know how hot it gets. Having it accidentally resting on the intake manifold gives you 152 degrees :eek3:

...intercooler sprayer lowers the scoop air 2-3 degrees :)

I think what he means by poopy is all rusty and crap :D
I am not worried about my stainless downpipe rusting, I would be more worried about the wrap melting, or otherwise decaying, and creating a big mess that is difficult to clean up/get off.

So, please elaborate on "poopy."
