Putting a STi wing on a wrx?

I have an aftermarket carbon fiber sti-style wing for my 2015 wrx. Local body shops won't install it because one of the holes for the screws would have to go through the joint in the trunk which would create a weak spot. Has anybody tried to put a spoiler on a wrx and has had this same problem? It seems like the only solution is to find someone with an sti who wants to trunk swap or buy a new trunk but I would rather not do that if possible. Thanks.

Why do body shops care? I would just bring it to another body shop.... he's obviously shying away from the job and isnt confident in doing the work.. he gave you a cockamamie excuse.

Take is as a sign that you shouldn't put a STI wing on a WRX...
Yes, trunk swapping is the most popular method because the fit is correct and it doesn't make new holes to rust.

Actually, this sounds like a GOOD body shop that actually cares what they put out there. Depending on the type of wing the OP is trying to use, the downforce created by the wing, mixed with an inadequate amount of mounting positions (my guess, because the he said it's a stock STYLE wing, and the OEM wing doesnt go through any trunk support) then he could install the wing and end up with a botched, dented trunk, and then go around town talking about the shoddy job the body shop did....
