Hello, I have a 2002 wrx and I'm looking to go stage II with a pro-tune. My question is, once it comes time for a smog test, will it be safe to remove my turbo-back and up-pipe to get it tested? I'm assuming that people have to do this all the time but... I'm just wondering if any of you have some input or experience. Thanks.

According to the DMV: What is Tested

Smoke puffing from the tailpipe or other areas of the auto.

The effectiveness of the catalytic converter.

A computerized gas analysis measured via the exhaust pipe while the vehicle is idling and at high speed.
