I put the wrong wax (I guess it was supposed to be for plastic, rubber, etc, but it wasn't labeled the greatest  ) on the hood and front bumper of my car, so I want to remove it with polish and then apply some better wax.

I have already washed it with a couple drops of dish soap in a bucket of water and that took most of the wrong wax off, I think. The wax I applied was streaking and looked bad, but the streaking is gone. So, what's a good stand-alone polish to use? After that I'll reapply with some Meguiar's wax after that.

does it look really bad???

if it is just wax, just wash the car a couple of times with liquid dish detergeant. that should get most of it out.
I think your car is too new for polishing...
