Well you should check over the oil pick up tube in the oil pan now that the pan is off. Subaru had an issue with pickup tubes cracking and causing catastrophic engine failure on the turboed engine but I can't recall if it affected the bugeye or not. If the uppipe is not already catless it then would be a good idea to do the uppipe. :thumbup:

So... I just went to do my first oil change after buying my car (2003 WRX wagon,150k ...not really "new"). Anyways, I found a nice surprise attached to the oil pan...

So my drain plug is stripped. I think I'm going to need a new oil pan. I was wondering if anyone knows of an oil pan that has a built in temp sensor? Or one with two drains? I'm going to put a fumoto plug in, but I would also like to hook up the temp gage I have sitting around too.
Anyone have any ideas? And would now be a good time to do the up/down pipe too? Or are there any upgrades/maintenance I can do while I have the oil pan off?

Will definitely check the oil pick up. And my uppipe is still catted so I guess I'll do that now too ...may as well do the downpipe as well though.Well you should check over the oil pick up tube...//...If the uppipe is not already catless it then would be a good idea to do the uppipe.
Maybe I should just do an EJ257 swap too, and drop in a six speed, and grab a bigger turbo.... Haha If only my wallet could keep up.
