Let's hear it!

Just so you know where I fit in... I am VERY into Audio/Video, I have been involved in the industry for about 12 years. I was a MECP certified 1st class installer with a specialist certificate in Security and Enclosure building but have given it up as a career and now own and operate my own marketing business.

Here is my current Audio /Video setup, it will be finished shortly, then at the end of summer 2003, it all comes out and a new "Alpine F1 Status" setup with Focal Utopia Speakers goes in over next winter :D

  • Security:_Alpine Alarm, DEI components, ALL Custom w/Multiple backups and all kinds of interesting options ;) Put it this way, If you get in to the car, you won't be able to stay in there for longer than a few seconds!

In addition I will be running a custom high output alternator from www.wranglernw.com which will keep the dual Optima batteries charged up, an Optima Blue top Deep Cycle in the trunk for the stereo and a Blue top Starting battery up front for the rest of the car... (Obviously I am not going to race my WRX :p)

Um, wow. Impressive!

Sounds like you're going to be a great source for those of us who aren't terribly satisfied with the OEM stereo stuff... what is what I've got. :(

Head unit- Pioneer Premier 940MP
Sub- Image Dynamics IDMAX
Amp- McIntosh 301M
THE AMP AND SUB ARE FOR SALE IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED:D ... Since Hifiwrx has been in the business for so long, he should be able to vouch for the fact that these two items are basically the cleanest on the market as far as car stereo goes...:D

I will say this... The only reason I don't use Image Dynamics and McIntosh is because the company I am sponsored by doesn't carry those brands. ;)

I have had McIntosh Amps in the past and have run Image Dynamics "Compression drivers" with custom horns in the front of 2 vehicles... All I can say is How much do you want for them?? I may be interested!!

PS.... If I were you I would ditch the Pioneer head (if you haven't already... Components like these belong with ALPINE!! ;) )

Ditch a 13-band eq, 3-way crossover, time alignment, sub control? Hell no!:D I was asking $900 for the two in a earlier thread... the amp alone is $1500 but I could go $800 o.b.o., what do ya think? If $800 is too steep, just make me an offer...

IMO Alpine's are also very high quality... I had a 7850 I think... not too sure on the model number... but now it would be about 3 years old, silver, motorized face. I sold it for the Premier 900R... which had the same goodies as the 940MP, except for the time alignment.
