Subaru WRX/STI | System 400Q
If you own a wrx with a base stereo, you know that the sound quality is quite bad. This system installs in the car without cutting any wires and transforms the sound to something pretty amazing. I purchased it for my car about two years ago, but the car is being traded in, so the system has been removed.
The kit consists of wiring harnesses, fuse block, a special digital amplifier tuned specifically to the car, a subwoofer with custom made enclosure that mounts in the trunk out of the way, hardware, and a high quality set of tweeters to replace the crappy ones that come in the car from the factory. The system uses the existing door speakers (they are actually pretty good). The transformation this system makes of the stock stereo equipment is truly astonishing IMO.
Everything needed to install the system is included. Instructions are linked on the OEM+ website and the video instructions are very complete. It takes a couple hours to install.
I confirmed with the company that this particular system will also work with the newer star link touchscreen base stereo units. They tell me that the amplifier should be reprogrammed which they will do for free if you ship the amp to them. As it sits now, the system is set for the 2015 wrx non-touch screen stereo. It's ready to be installed and used.
These run $1199 new. I am looking to get $650. I will also offer advice on install since I've already done it myself and lend you some helpful hints. I would prefer not to ship this, but will if I have to (at buyers expense). I'm located in Indianapolis and willing to drive and meet you within a reasonable distance for pickup.
Read up on OEM+ and you will find raving reviews. This is a quality system and it doesn't require you to cut your cars wiring up to install. This is for the person who wants really clear/clean sound and deep, rich bass.
