So the whole design/marketing plan for the new 08 was to mature the car, and appeal to something less of the tuner crowd. This i understand. This, they have successfully accomplished.

But the other day flipping through WIRED magazine i saw an ad for the STi.

"blah blah torque... turbo 305 hp...yada yada AWD..." and then the part that confused me.

"Welcome to the brotherhood." and a logo next to it that says "FRATERNITY OF STI"

What happened to maturing it? Frats? are they trying draw in that successful business man who used to be a Beta and pull on nostalgia or what?

Just noticed that, kinda threw me off. aka REAAALLYY Bored.

well it was in WIRED magazine....

maybe they want the rich Tech geeks who never made it in a frat.
Buy an STI, be part of something.

haha

if your a rich Tech geek we won't think any less of you

Calling it "fraternity of STI" is most likely not an attempt to associate the STI owners with college fraternities. The word "fraternity" has a much broader meaning, basically referring to a group of people that are associated with each other based on one or a few common things. In this case that "thing" would be the STI. I would agree that it's an interesting marketing ploy, but can pretty much guarantee it's not SOA's attempt to lure ex-college frat guys into the dealership.
