I'm still getting a feel for this whole subie thing. I have a 2009 STI with 135k miles. It rides rough. It is my daily driver and I want to keep close to stock height. What is a good replacement to give me a smoother ride? I'm on pavement 99% of the time. I have 4 kids so not looking to brake the bank. I have looked at some posts and some people go for coilovers while some go for springs. Input and suggestion please.

If you have a modest budget and don't want to rattle the fillings out of your teeth a good set of springs and perhaps koni inserts may be for you. Even very expensive coilovers tend to be a bit harsher than stock.

Honestly I'd perhaps try and source the stock parts. Nothing is really going to be smoother than that unless you go with some super soft springs and dampers.
