So I bought a bug eye always wanted one it’s mostly stock but it has a few issues it’s hard af to put into 1st gear at any point, doesn’t matter if the cars on or off, that’s problem one problem to. I think the cats are clogged because it’s super quiet and it’s already had a muffler delete and after it gets up to operating temperature it wants to cut off on you I want to do a pardon few mods to it if there’s anyone who could help source parts I could use the help

You sound like you've got multiple thousands of dollars in potential problems before you even consider modifications.

The shifting problem could be a few things. Clutch related or shifting linkage related. Is the shifter sloppy?

I have saved 7k for the build so I’m prepared it’s not my first build just never worked on a Subaru

does it make noise trying to put into first, or is it a "quiet resistance" ?
if it is quiet, maybe clutch needs bled or adjustment. full procedure in service man

if it makes noise, could be synchros, throwout release bearing assembly, forks lots of stuff.

once you get it goin is the trans quiet or very noisy?

if idling and you push in the clutch pedal does it start making a noise? (throwout bearing)

is this 5spd or 6spd?

Drives pretty good not excessively loud no noise when clutch goes in or out doesn’t happen in any other gear

Also hear a clicking noise when flipping headlights on and off seems to be coming from pass floorboard

Seems like 1st 3rd and 5th are harder first being the hardest 5th being easiest

Problem solved it was the metal shroud underneath the shift boot the one that has 4 10mm bolts in it the shift linkage was hitting it cut a notch in it and now it shifts like butter
