Hey everyone-
I just put an EGT gauge in my wrx. What should I look out for that is a sign of a problem (what are the normal readings, what is too high a reading, etc...)?

Reading EGT gauges is sorta a black art... comparing absolute temps between cars is really sorta worthless unless everything is identical on the cars and you are using identical probes. Generally once you start getting ~1600 if the probe is before the turbo icky things are about to happen... but not always. ~1400 after the turbo and you should be worried... but not always. The only way to really make any use of the thing is to drive alot and get a feel for what it does, and get so you can notice if anything is out of whack. For reference I run 1100F cruising at 80mph but I'm pretty sure my probe reads high.
