Hey guys! I've been doing some searching on this CXracing turbo kit for sale on their site, eBay, Amazon, etc. Here is a link:

https://www.cxracing.com/IC0004-A-BOV-FNG-Y-PIPE-TD05-WRX

For under $500 you get:
- Top mount Intercooler
- Hard Y pipe with couplers and hose clamps
- Blow Off Valve Kit
- Stock Bolt on Upgrade Big TD05 16G Turbo

I've done some searching and the Intercooler seems pretty tried and tested with good reviews here.

The Bov would be substituted for the OEM one because VTA is ricer.

From what I've found online, the CXracing 16g is actually pretty decent, not a cheap China knockoff, and is made in California?

Does anyone have experience with the turbo, or this kit? I don't want to hear "you get what you pay for" or "eBay turbos break". If you don't have personal experience with the CXracing turbo, please withhold your comments about it ?

Opinions and... go

You're going to be hard pressed to find anyone who has personal experience with one because most people already know they're junk and don't want to waste their money. I only know of people who have used their headers/exhaust and intercoolers. Their exhaust components are known to rust badly and crack at the welds, and their intercoolers have been proven to perform worse than stock in tests (plus they tend to come with errant metal shavings on the inside.. poor quality control to say the least).

Every CXRacing part I've seen was literally identical to several other different knockoff brand parts that all come out of the same factory in China. I HIGHLY doubt it's made in California. Just a quick comparison of CXRacing's picture of their own turbo to half a dozen different knockoff ones that come up on eBay shows it's the same part..

It’s the exact same turbo as the chinese knockoffs like mainframe mentioned. You can probably cut out the middle man and buy it all from Ali express for less money.

What is the quality of their TMIC? Worth getting for $210 instead of an STI TMIC?
You started the thread -- did you read the responses?

FWIW I ran a CXracing intercooler on my last MR2 turbo for 4 years with no issues, and there were no metal shavings in it. If I recall it was a half decent copy of the discontinued Greddy intercooler. But that is a totally different part on a different platform, and the stock intercooler on sw20s is so anemic and inadeqate for anything over 10 psi that anything would have been an improvement, and there wasn't an affordable easily obtainable alternative either, like there is with the STi TMIC which I would go for instead. I would avoid off brand turbos, they are just not worth the savings unless its some kind of low budget challenge junkyard build.
