Recently bought a 2016 wrx and might of bought it a bit too fast with out taking a good look at the after market parts. I bought it thinking it was 100% stock but when I showed the car to my friend he could tell it wasn’t stock by the noises it made. Doing some research I found that it had a pbv, electronic boost control, after market intake, and a after market muffler(couldn’t find the brand online). There might be other mods that I’m unaware of. I was planning on getting a stage 1 cobb tune(something slight) but now I’m to scared to change anything because of all the aftermarket parts in it. Someone please help as what i should do

So at this point my recommendation to you is to take the car to a qualified Subaru specialist to find out EXACTLY what modifications are on the car.

I'm concerned that the PO removed and sold the tuner before selling the car which is bad news.

Do you have any contact with the PO?

I agree to a certain extent. You need to take the car to a well know performance shop that has a good pro tuner in house. A good tuner can patch into the ecu and see what’s going on with the map that’s loaded onto the ecu already. Any Subaru tech (from dealerships) will not touch a modified car due to dealership policies.
