Hey guys, so I've been looking to get into my first WRX. I've been looking for months and I still can't find anything worth while. I did find what seems to be a decent 06 but it is "fully built". The guy has a binder full of receipts from the build and also a binder full of service records. I'm not extremely familiar with these cars and I know its probably not the greatest idea to get something to this extent. I'm planning to go at least look at it. Please lmk what you guys think. I'm going to look at it on Saturday. Also, keep in mind that although this car would technically be my daily, I really don't drive that much. I put 8k miles on my GTI in 2 years.

Here's the listing:

Well your kinda jumping into a guessing game with something like that. Could run perfect for thousands of miles, or blow up on you the next day of ownership.

That's a lot of goodies. Based on your level of interest after viewing the car I might suggest taking the car to a local shop (Subaru specialists // not a dealership) or have a mobile mechanic come to the location of the car to do an inspection of the vehicle. Let us know how the car drives once you get a chance.

I almost always recommend against buying modified vehicles. The more modified the less recommended they come. Thats for a reason.

If its legitimately the only think you can find you need to locate a good subaru shop near you and schedule a pre purchase inspection that includes cylinder compression and leak down tests, boost and vacuum leak tests, and a full inspection of all other mechanical systems.

Id then offer that guy 9 tops. At the end of the day its a hodgepodge WRX and not an STI it doesn't command the same price.

Very true, I'll definitely get it checked out before I'd consider buying it. Do you know about how much it'd cost to get all those tests preformed by a shop?
