Modded no AP yet what's the risk?

Hey All my 02 wrx had a tune, from installation of an electronic boost controller and a short intake install. But I just added a new mishi top mount, td05 16 turbo, and a stage 2 clutch. So pretty basic stuff. I need to find a place to do a tune, but my question was whether it would just be better to add an AP and drop a basic tune on that instead of going through the hassle of finding a shop. I'm in the W-S NC region and no one wants to tune AWD.

Thanks for the input.

I'd find someone rather than use OTS. Nice turbo.
You'll need to find a shop to do a custom ECU calibration; there is no base map for what you have. I hope you have an aftermarket fuel pump and injectors to go with that turbo, because your OE units aren't up to the task of fueling that much air.

+1
The mechanic who dropped it in didn't seem concerned with the injectors in it. It ran rich before and I've not noticed a change in it running lean.

The electronic boost controller has not been changed either so I expected to get a full run down of the fuel pump and injectors at the time of a tune. Assuming it's 41lbs and not the 36lbs on the 380s it'll require 560ccs?

Thanks

I can pretty much max out IDCs with the stock turbo. You're looking at one that flows significantly more air. You may as well swap the OE turbo back on if you're not going to give the 16G more fuel.

Even 560cc are going to be limiting (although, are a lot better than your OE ones); generally, you're going to want 650+ leave some IDC headroom. If you go aftermarket, my advice is to just step right up to ID1050Xs. You should go with ID because they're probably the best injector on the market and they're easy to calibrate. There's ZERO reason going any smaller than the 1050Xs, because they're the same price as smaller ID units, 1050Xs will be easier to sell down the line if you do a part-out, you'll have enough headroom that you can upgrade turbos / run E85 down the road on the same fuel system, and they're not so large that there are calibration issues like the ID2000s.
Thanks for the heads up. Yea I replaced the turbo cause the OE seals were messed up, so that thing is gone. Guess I'll jump on getting the new injectors quicker. I took it to a subaru specialist at a motor sport shop I'm surprised they didn't mention it then. I assumed they were fine. I'll check them this weekend could be the previous owner changed em out when they added the short ram and EBC.
