Just curious, has anybody broken a tranny and replaced the gears with the ones from a Legacy GT? If you compare the 02-07 WRX gears with the 05-07 LGT gears, the gears and teeth are a few mm thicker, might be a good upgrade for a budget build. They're not the bullet-proof six speed, but the 1,2, and 3 from the LGT are a HAIR longer than the WRX's. Anybody running them? I have a few links from my friends at Google, but curious if more than just a few are doing it. Thanks!

it's a common upgrade, but most people end up going with aftermarket gears

Yeah I realize it's common, I'm asking if anybody is running them. I know it CAN be done, and pretty easily, but it's not the price of PPG's. I guess you could just not blow your tranny in the first place...

since they're longer than 02-05's... they say that putting them in an 06/07 transmission is the best way to go. I don't know of anyone (who is a regular) here running them. Most have gone with a 6spd or PPGs. It's popular on NASIOC though.
