without getting an SRS check light? I have a pair of
Recaro SRD's I'd like to install in my WRX.

you need to put a resistor in the airbag plug. I believe it is 3ohm

Yep that's basically what you do.

If I remember the story right, in automotive history there was this vocal guy (can't remember his name) in I think fuel economy or was it safety?....well flash forward to today, he's old and his wife is old. He's worried about the safety of his elderly wife when the airbag goes off.

He did a couple shots of disabling the airbag, and fool the sensors, basically with a potentiometer and found the correct resistance as the SRS light when off, and stick the correct resistor in.

The quick law says you can do it. A shop cannot, unless you sign a set of waivers so that they are not liable.

It was an article in Car & Driver titled something like "Just Say No to Airbags"

Finally ordered the Recaro seat brackets for my WRX.

Was told by many people that the 2000 Impreza brackets
will work on a 2002 WRX. We'll see and they arrive.
