Hi to all wrx lovers. "Recently" i posted a thread about swaping my 2006 wrx automatic to 5 speed. After reading all opinions i decided not to do it.So i traded my 06 wrx for 2011 rally blue wrx sedan. I love it!!!! I just installed invidia dp on it and looking for some good and loud exhaust.So far everything comes up to Borla. Never heard it on the street but after some research looks like its the only one that will work for me.its kind of pricey but hopefully worth it.Any suggestions? Thank you for any advise.

Go to local meets. Listen to exhausts in-person. Video clips suck.

TurboXS is pretty loud/raspy; I like it.

yeah you right.i will check out the xs. from what you say it maybe louder then borla. its just hard for me with time to go and research. thank you for fast response. i want to get an exhaust asap. my 06 had spt and it was nice but not that loud. looking for something much louder.

Based on your username, you're in NY. You'll have lots of fun with the police there since modified exhausts are illegal and cops love to stop you and give you tickets for them...

I had my 06 with upgrades and never got pulled over for that.Only for tints.but i guess it depends on a cop.oh well.subaru with no exhaust? i dont think so

The Nameless exhaust will not likely be loud enough for the OPs wants.

Depends. My XR-1 is pretty loud, and I don't get bothered, but it looks OE.

Nameless, borla, cobb.. all will be throaty but reasonably quiet and all of very good quality.

On my 2010.. the turboxs was awesome with the factory dp.. but got unholy angry with a aftermarket dp. It went from throaty rumble at all rpm to raspy all the time and homicidal demons escaping hell at wot..seriously the downpipe made that much difference in sound. I loved it, but it was far too loud for daily driving duties imho.

Loud is fun till you have to spend more than a hour in the car ... then it starts to suck teh ballz quick.

so ok. My boy just put dinan exhaust on his 2003 M5. On his facebook it sounded sweet.Not to loud but really good. I just met up with him in person and that exhaust is F***** sick!!!! Nothing like online bs. Loud as hell and poetry to my ears. So i know from now on not to judge after some on line video. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. I would love to take the resonators out but dont want my subie to sound like a civic.So far i think i will go with the borla.

the borla is a good choice.. but it will be pretty quiet. Louder than stock yes, but not by much. And honestly that's a good thing if you want to live with it for long rides.

secondly.. your wrx will NEVER sound like a honda. Even with a el header (which takes the rumble out) they dont sound honda'ish. Unless you change the header you'll always have that paired exhaust note rumble they're famous for.

^ for my wallet.. yep.. but I'm the guy running a invidia dp and a spt exhaust. I didn't like the increased cop attention from the turbo xs. And I'm gettin old, it was just too loud.

I have a Borla on the LGT...it's quiet but sounds nice.

All the borla's that I've heard in person are deep and rich toned but over all pretty quiet. About same db as the spt but the sound tuning is much much better.

Much, much better. I love it sounds almost stock at idle...then you get on it and fly by people who think it's just a mom car (the LGT that is). With an estimated 293 whp/305 wtq it's nothing to sneeze at And Borla still sounds mean at WOT.

I did a bit of research on Borla exhaust. I heard that it's pretty subtle and stock-ish around town, but but comes alive a WOT with the stock downpipe. Another thread I read, the OP initially had it on a stage 1 tune and liked it. Then he installed a cat-less downpipe and it became obnoxiously loud and he uninstalled it (I hear most CBE become very loud and raspy with cat-less downpipes ... anyone can correct me if I'm wrong). Also, if you're thinking of a Borla CBE, I would not get an Invida downpipe ... they don't mate very well with out additional modification which may lead to some problems down the road (Invida 3" and the Borla made to mate with stock so 2.5")

I decided on a Borla and will be receiving it on Monday. I liked the engineering behind it ... with the multicore design which produces zero drone with out the need of a resonator and it's quality. Plus, I got it through my brother at an unbelievable deal. I will be installing it with a Cobb catted downpipe. Once installed ... I'll let you know what I think.
