You don't want a WRX, get a Prius, you'll save a ton of money on gas while helping the environment at the same time. You'll thank me later.

anyway, if everything checks out that sounds like a great deal. just make sure it's up to date on all maintenance and doesnt have any modifications

Its an 05 sliver wrx with no extra mod. everything is all stock which is great.

my concern is that how many years and miles can i use this car for? what is the avg lifespan of a typical wrx with good maintenance?

thanks once again

59k would be considered relativity low miles for an 05.

I have an 06 with 83k. As long as the car was serviced properly and taken care of it should be fine. However, this is a very general statement. It's best to have the car checked out pre-purchase. Preferably by a Subaru specialist.

59k is very low for an 05. On average an 05 should have 70k-105k.

What Michael said was right though. If the car was taken care of it could last you well into 200k miles.

lolwut?

Anyways, 59k is very low for an 05, and that's a good price for the West coast. As Mycologist said, do you have a link to an ad or pictures?

Car looks great! The front grill is different, but I think its just a Grillcraft one. Something to inquire about for sure.

Looks pretty clean, probably a pretty rare find if it really was stock.

You'll have the 60K service to do right away, which is good in a way because you will personally know it is up to date after that.

Tell him you'll give him 10,500 because you're going yo have to do the 60k mile service on it, and you don't like the custom grill ( whether you actually do like it or not doesnt matter, tell him you don't) He'll probably do it, if you have the cash and are ready to buy. Never pay what they're asking, most everybody asks a little more than they actually expect to get out of the car because they expect to be negotiated down.

Or just get a Prius and save the world.

60k is usually a full fluid service. Engine oil and filter, transmission and both differentials, radiator flush. As well as a full car inspection. Tires, brakes, diagnosis from the ECM. I think that is it, but I could be missing stuff.

Take cash. Hand him 10K as an offer. Let him hold it for a while. Holding that much cash has a dramatic effect. He won't give it back and you will make a good deal.

Cash is definitely a better motivator. If you don't feel comfortable holding it then take someone you trust with you, or leave it in the car you showed up in.

Pack heat. Or bring someone with you. It's never a good idea to meet up with someone you don't know, by yourself, and holding 10k in cash.
