I am looking to add a new intake on my 2009 Impreza 2.5i (non-turbo) was looking for suggestions on what setups work best , trying to stay away from universal fit kits but don't want to drop $300 on an K&N either . Any websites I should checkout ? Thanks

300 for an intake by a reputable company is a good deal.

I'd spend the money on brakes, tires, bushings, anything that will actually give you a tangible boost to performance

What about these universal kits anyone had any luck with those, I'm not expecting a big hp jump the added sound and benefits to the engine are enough, this is a family car but wanting a little edge ya know

What benefits to the engine?

If the engine is MAF-metered, you will need to recalibrate the ECU for an intake. Since you are not willing to spend $300 on a quality intake, I'd imagine the $500 on a dyno tune is an exercise in futility.
