Id suggest getting that car to a tuner for your own piece of mind getting a dyno run and a new tune on it.. a manual BC is usually not a good sign..

Congrats on the purchase, you know what turbo you have? Im guessing its not stock since you have a FMIC. and i would definately do what TOrque suggested i can't even count how many times i've seen people buy modified wrx or sti's and ruin them only because something as simple as tuning.

I would agree with everything T0rque has mentioned... usually a manual BC on a car = previous owner didn't know what he/she was doing.
