the car made over 400 horsepower and 400 pound feet of torque on the dyno at different points during the tune , but Clint , Tony , and Corbin said i have to run at lower power unless i put in forged pistons and rods

so this is my final power output . kind of dis appointing , but i dont want to break anything .

to build out the engine would be at least 13 grand .

their dyno reads ten percent lower than most dynos . verified by previous tunes .

so my numbers may be a little higher on a dyno jet

OK. This doesn't mean much without an explanation of the baseline run and list of modifications.

The FA20 motors only need a small handful of mods to get the power you got. A lot of your mods are over the top for a stage 2 build. If you go built block and big turbo then yes a header with dual EWG, Front mount, Flex fuel, fuel pump, is nice. You shouldn't really be disappointed with the power you made. I made about the same power with protune, Turboback, IAG/TGV Deleted, Intake & EBCS. Whoever told you that you need 13 grand to build a block is a complete idiot or they are ripping you off, the IAG block and big turbo kit is like 8 grand.

they said it wouldnt make sense to rebuild without doing , rods , pistons , clutch , and a few other things .

i could just do rods pretty cheap , but other stuff would start to fail at higher power .

What % Ethanol are you running?
right now im running eleven percent . im cleaning out my high pressure pump .

ive experimented with different levels . my tune makes maximum power at 55 percent ethanol . that is what it was tuned for .

if i go higher , the engine doesnt run quite right .

i always add lucas oil ethanol treatment if im putting in e85

i plan on making more power in the future , so i just included a few things in the build that will come in handy later .

That's only a shortblock bud. There are a lot of little things that add up when building a longblock. You're looking at a few grand on top of that just in parts plus the labor to assemble the heads and put the motor back in the car.

13 grand is a little high, but $8-9k is reasonable.
thats great news . thanks .

If you're getting information from TiC, take that as gospel...they will not sell you a part they don't feel you need.

They have told me NOT to buy parts from them (and to buy parts from someone else instead), because they felt my needs were better suited. It takes a special kind of vendor to pass up a sale like that.

your dyno sheet is exactly why I want to get my car tuned.. steady increase of power to redline. Just out of curiosity, a shop near me quoted $1150 for a stage tune 2 and that includes buying the Cobb AP... good deal or no?

^This.. take the cost of the parts ($4k), double that, then add in a little more for what I would call "incidentials". $8-$9k to have that block in the car and running sounds about right.

You made 400whp on the turn in Dyno? Yeah your fine boss.

Yup

Same here.

I know the difference between a short block and a long block, the thing is NO ONE is running built heads. The "BIG" power FA builds consist of the IAG short block and a big turbo + all the other crap he currently has. The cars are making 475-550 in a somewhat "safe" fashion

I personally know people running these builds and the ones who are doing the builds and its roughly 8-9 grand for block and big turbo not just a small block.

I didn't say "built heads."

Please read closely. There's more to a assembling a longblock than just "bolting the heads to the block"
