hello i just recently got my 2018 wrx and had it for about 4 days now and put in about 450 miles. I instantly fell in love with this car and i have yet to use it to its full potential.
i know i should break it in atleast 1k miles but ive had people tell me 600 should be enough. ofcourse i should always prefer what the dealers say but i wanna know what your guys thoughts on it, also if you do have the latest wrx and have owned one for quite some time, have there been any problems that occured? i just want to make sure i know what i should watch out for since i am still a newbie to subarus.
xjman is right. do and oil change at 1k miles and 3k regularly after that. if you are going to do any engine mods, do it all at once and get it properly tuned.
but if you are not ready for any warranty issues, just a catback exhaust, suspension upgrade for better stance and fix that awful gear box.
Your oil filter will take care of anything of concern during break in. There is no reason to change it at 1000 mikes really. I typically do, but you don’t have to.
Welcome and congrats! Are you sure that is your WRX? It looks like you are sneaking on it <img src="http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif" border="0" alt="" title="tongue" class="inlineimg" />
