Just finished installing an up pipe and a turbo back on my 04 sedan now are the heat shields for the manifold necesary or will I be fine without them? What about for the turbo?

It is best to use as much shielding as you can. Excessive under hood heat robs your engine of power, especially around the intercooler.

Once again I am awestruck at the excellence in cleanliness that is your engine bay.

Do the turbo wraps require disconnecting the downpipe to fit, or can they be installed with the turbo in place?

I had three goes at it this past summer. The last time was with the turbo off which was easier. They can still be installed with everything connected (no heat shield obviously).

Yes, I have issues where the engine bay is concerned.
