Anxiously awaiting the AP within the next week or so! I read many thumbs up for butt dyno assessments, but has anyone here measured the results of their AP using a real dyno?

Thanks!

i dynoed my 100% stock sti, then loaded the stage I map and drove for 20 miles to learn

i picked up 10 HP peak and over 20 at one point on the curve

the dyno's tach sensor was not working, so they could not derive TQ.

now i am at 5400 feet and i am suffering from the undersized vf-39 even more than cobb did. it just runs out of air.

here is my orginal post

Err, go to Cobb's site. They have graphs taken from their Mustang dyno.

http://cobbtuning.com/wrx/power-s.html#stage1

Click on the little pic of the graph to see the big image. There have been some customer graphs floating around in Cobb's forum, too.

My experience has been that the ECU (at least the WRX ecu) takes longer than 20 miles to learn and stabilize. I can't prove it, but that's been my experience through 3 different levels of Cobb reflash on a WRX.

since i was still "renting" the dyno, i did not want to go to far. but yes it seemed to learn for 3-4 days.

I have seen the dyno plots at Cobb. Before ordering, I read everything AP related their site had available at least a few times. I did not dig into the Cobb forums for dyno plots – I will do that soon.

The salesman I ordered from said to expect 20HP (227+20=247). The dyno plot they have indicates a peak of 25.5 (227+25.5=252.5) and the Stage 1 page http://cobbtuning.com/wrx/power-s.html#stage1 says 260 (260-227=33). So what figure is accurate; 247 or 253 or 260?

I was just wondering if anyone here had done their own testing.

You're confusing wheel hp with crank hp. The 25.5whp indicated on their dyno plot is actually 33.9 chp after accounting for drivetrain losses. 227+33.9 = 260.9, or about 260. (their advertised 93 octane stage 1)

I'm sure that the salesguy was also talking in terms of wheel hp. If he thought you were talking about a 91 octane Stage 1 map, then 20whp translates into about 27chp. 27chp + 227 = 254, which is close to the 255hp advertised for Stage 1 91 octane.

Ah, that makes sense. I did not seem obvious to me which figures were quoting crank or wheel hp. Thanks for clearing that up!
