I have been ham fisted in my shifting. I seem to have trouble in two areas and need your help.
Area one: I have hit the rev limiter in 1st gear about 3x now. I'm just not used to it winding up so fast.
Area Two: Missed shifts from 2nd to 3rd with gear grinding.
Today a playful and frisky M3 and I were froliking at a stop light. In the heat of the moment I smacked into the rev limiter in 1st and missed my shift going into 3rd and grinding the gears. I am so ashamed almost to the point of driving with a brown bag over my head...Almost.
Suggestions and guidence is always welcome.

Theres a certain way to position your arm and hand when speed shifting. They taught me that in racing school. I dont know how to explain it without showing you. Well, I would just say.. practice practice practice.

Don't fell bad:
After I installed my Joe P MBC, I hit the rev limiter in first like a half-a-dozen times, it just got to 7,000 sooo freaking quick. Now, I just feel redline coming.

As for the grinding, you need to keep the clutch pedal in a little longer.

Is this your first MT car?

Nope this isn't my first M/T but it is my first turbo and it's been a long time since (1987) since I last rode my 1000r Ninja. Practice that's what I need and lots of vitaman B12 LOL.
Man you got to love those BMW M3's!
