Hi lately during a cold start up (10 or so degrees) there's a grinding noise coming from the alternator it seems and it only lasts a few minutes until the car slightly warms up. There is also a gas smelling scent near the alternator. I just got all my belts replaced and tensioned so I believe my alternator bearing must be going out (the car has 80K). Has anyone else had this issue? Any input would be great. Thanks much.
