Got hit in almost the same exact spot last week. The guy took off after he did it. It was in a parking lot. Came out to find the car ****** up. There was no body damage though. Ended up having to pay the family body shop 475 to get it sanded and repainted. People are just duchebags

Sad to hear it. I know exactly how you feel, you can read about my tale here. I had the same thing happen, except it was a hit and run.
I don't remember the exact figures, but it took about a week+ to get mine back. The whole story/pics is behind that link.

Some guy passed out while driving becasue apparently he was a diabetic and hit 3 cars one of which was mine. He managed to miss most of the car but left a superficial scrape along the whole side of the car. Most of the damage went against my front left tire, luckly my rim was in one piece only bunch of rubber on it, the shop just cleaned it up. They did replace the strut and the inner and outer tire rods and everything is fine now. But the kicker was that, they repainted the entire side plus my front and rear bumber, since I did some talking to the shop owner, and my bumpers were in bad condition, since I park on the street and they take a beating, by asshats that park by feel. Anyways it was 4200 worth of damage, but at least shes in one piece and lookin better then eva. The shop took exactly week and a half to do the work, and I got a shinny new KIA spectra to drive around :rotfl:. It actully wasn't a bad car for what it is, but driving it was no fun. BTW, I was away on vacation and it was due to my quick thinking uncle that the cops who wrote the report added my car becasue, it really didn't look so bad from the outside, and if he didn't say anything to the cops about my car I would have been screwed becasue I could not go against that guys insurance and would have to pay to get it fixed.

Really sorry to hear this......Sucks. At least it was not worse and you did not get hurt or anything. Good luck with the repairs.
You are entitled to a rental car that's the equivalent of the car that got hit, or monetary compensation for loss of transportation that is the equivalent. In other words, the WRX is a performance car. Find out what a performance rental goes for. Even if you get stuck with an Escort, their insurance company is required to compensate you for what you lost. Get a lawyer if need be. Just be glad you weren't hurt. I've been unable to work since I got rear-ended by a truck in August.

Heres an update!
So i went ahead and took it to leif's, I heard they're one of the best in the NW and they're a 24hr facility. While I was waiting hertz came to drop off my rental, a chevy malibu! I know, I know! This was on Wednesday. Friday came around and I get a call from the douche nozzle claims adjuster who went by leif's to look at my car and they quoted the total damages at $4,700.00, I should be getting her back in 10 days, so i'll keep you posted

HAAA!.. 4700 frickin dollars... are they smoking pole or what?! i just got my car back from the shop... took em 3.5 days... they had to fix and repaint my front door, repaint the back bumper, fix the rear quarter and the wheel well, and get a whole new rear door and it was only 2200... and that was the highest estimate i got... that insurance adjuster should get a swift kick in the nuts. i had way more damage.

WOW, thats what I have to say. My story on the first page from last spring looks very similar in terms of damage, and it was about $1300 when all was said and done. That was pulling panels off, and all sorts of paint, heck the insurance agent even wanted to replace the wheel on that side.
I also went to a rather well respected (not cheap) shop and it was still $1300ish.Nearly 5k for that seems rather high just about anywhere, but hey, thats their job and that's why there is insurance. hope it goes smoothly and keep us updated.

I called on wednesday to get an update and he said my car is all back together and waiting for final inspection! He said the my old rim is on the car and my new rim is in the trunk ready to be painted and mounted. So i'll let you all know when my car is in my posession! I also got the insurance check cashed. Man its nice to hold 4,700 in cold hard cash!!!
