If there is an error code, diagnose that. If not, look for vacuum and boost leaks. If no luck there say hi to your local specialist.

First thing is considering a change of driving habit. Then doing any maintenance on the engine it may need. New brakes, new joints, new tires, new fluids will all help with fuel economy

It's not as straightforward and checking for vacuum leaks I'm afraid. See if a visual turns anything up. If not, make a contraption to pressurize the intake (there are instructions floating around here and/or online) and go from there.

yeah that stab in the dark has helped😯 half a tank of fuel an already clocked 230kms so i’m hoping 460kms to a full tank is doing good for a 2001 model driving around town..
