New badges received! Install was very easy with some dental floss. No heat gun required! :)

Install of flaps... the rear flaps use some crappy plastic fastener which took a bit of work to get installed. Had to go under the car and hold the other side with pliers to keep it from spinning. But got it in and looks like a beauty.

Also loving the height of the short version of these flaps.

Morimoto XB Fog lights and the Morimoto 2Stroke Bulbs

Night before took about 15 minutes to install these yellow tints on the fog lamps. Easy with some soapy water, hair dryer and old credit card.

Very nice quality bulbs from Morimoto

Fog lights on after install

I will say this, the replacement of the DRL for the Morimotos are VERY BRIGHT. Unfortunately it was too late for me to attempt the DRL fix, so I ended up doing it this morning. Very easy lifting the passenger side car, removing the bottom fender and bam. DRL problem fixed.

Took yesterday to install the Morimoto XB Fog lights and the Morimoto 2Stroke Bulbs

Did my head unit upgrade!

Got me a nice deal on ebay for a DDX9903S Kenwood unit.

Picked up the essentials required for my HU install.

- Harnesses
- Maestro RR
- Scosche Trim
- Kenwood DDX9903S
- Alpine KTU-445U mini amp

Doing the upgrade my camera wouldnt work.. all schematics online are wrong for the 2017. But I made it work!

Carplay is the best. No need to go to the more expensive Nav units!

Also got me the F1 Rear Fogs from iJDMToy... got it for a cheap price so can't complain. I think I would have liked the dimming functionality of the subispeed v2 model, but not worth the extra 50% cost.

Got these in smoked black

Looks good man! I have been considering ordering the rear fog light.
For the price it wasn't too bad. Came out to 80$

Looks sick - can you comment on the headunit? I've been dying for a carplay headunit, but crutchfield told me that I would lose native BT/Microphone, native backup camera, and native usb port and would have to replace those with what came with the head unit. Can you confirm/deny that? Also - what do you think of carplay itself in general?

I have a 2017 WRX premium, for context.
Got me a Kenwood DDX9903S. Won a cheap bid on Ebay about 200$ below retail price.

I did install the bluetooth mic on the dash by the gauges. Not a big deal. I've never seen anyone use the OEM bluetooth mic successfully so I figured I wouldnt hassle with it. Backup camera works great, but wiring is different for the 2017 models.

Here is a post I made for this :

As for the USB, I bought a Axxess USB adapter, however it does not want to play nice with my Kenwood unit. Idk if it is the converter who is having the issue or if it simply just doesnt like that hub in the center console.

Havent had the time to go pick up another USB harness from Metra or Scosche.

Carplay is fantastic. Dont need to purchase the more expensive Nav model since Maps streams straight from the phone (and charges the phone at the same time).

I can play radio/CD music while using Carplay, or simply use Spotify or Music on the phone too.

The one thing I cant figure out is how to keep the kenwood unit to keep the proper time. I've tried both GPS and manual. Each time I restart the unit, it throws a the clock into a different timezone. Its strange.

Anyone have any experience with the clock on previous kenwood units?

Does spotify work natively with the carplay unit (like, on-screen) ?
Yep, I can try to take a pic when I go to my car now after work. Ill upload it later tonight.
So cant really take a pic when the phone is connected to the car lol

Will be taking a pic w. my wife's camera soon and I'll upload the pic.

If you find some youtube vids online though its the same functionality.

So this just happened over the weekend....

Took me a while to get these guys out... about 45 minutes. Wanted to take my time since I didnt want to break any plastic clips.

For those who are wondering why I had those boxes there. They are a great second set of hands when you do this by yourself. You don't have to struggle trying to keep the bumper up while disconnecting the fog harness. They also help when you are trying to reclip the sides upon bumper installation.

Havent taken a picture of the C-lights, did the morimoto c-lights with ProlightZ harness. Very good quality build on that harness. I have one issue which I need to reach out to them for. My C-lights don't turn on when the low beams are on. I dont know if there is a step I missed, but I will be figuring this out soon!

I also plasti dipped the side yellow markers before putting the headlight housing back together. I think it looks so much better. But in case I need to return it to stock, I can rub off the rubber layer with no issues :)

I will take a pic of the lights and how they look once I get a chance to do so and I will update the post.

Also hit my 1000 miles over the weekend! Need to buy some ramps to do the oil change :)

Received my Tail as Turn module from Prolightz along with some of the XB bulbs to replace the turn signals (Front Amber, Rear White)

Unfortunately the rear XB bulbs lit up as amber even though the packaging stated white bulbs. I emailed Prolightz and Will from Prolightz was quick to respond and immediately apologized for the mix up and is sending me a replacement set no charge.

Great customer service and I have been very happy with their products, especially their C-Light DRL harness. Top notch quality build.
Video of C-Light switchback action :) This should have been like that from factory!

Can you post more pics of the Scosche kit? Are there any gaps between the radio and the trim? I was considering buying one of these.

I'll try to get some snaps this afternoon. It fits perfectly and theres minimal gap between the radio and the panel. I prefer this over the 2 tone kit.
