i just found my outkast aquimini cd...one of my favorites...and it was all scratched so i took some toothpaste and a lot of water and rubbed on the cd with a cotton cloth for like 5 mins and then cleaned it off...went outside and put some car mcguiereres however uspell it gold class wax on it and the cd works very well now!! anyone have any other "home remedy" cd scratch fixes??

Cool idea. So the CD was skipping before and now it doesn't?

I've heard about plastic scratch remover (GS27 or whatever that stuff is called) but I don't know if it works.

a thin layer of baking soda tooth paste is supposed to help too

I got one of those CD Doctor things... you put the CD in and turn the crank etc... IMO, it's not worth the money. It will take out FINE scratches, but the most CD players can still read a disc with FINE scratches. I have not had it actually repair a disk that I was having actual problems with. It might improve it a bit.. but not 100%

see when u do the toothpaste it like puts swirlmarks in but helps get out some of the deep scratches...the wax then gets out those swirls!!
