Got this from I-Club...not sure how scientific it is, but...

All measurements done with in 20 inches, comparing level @ 5000rpm, OSHA related testing @ 'A' (human earing):
1. Blitz Nur-Spec Catback on WRX- 103-105 dB
2. Stromung dual tip muffler on GC8 RS- 91-92 dB
3. MRT Turbo Catback dual tip on WRX - 87-88 dB
4. Ralli Spec on GC8 turbo - 92-93 dB
5. HKS Carbon-Ti muffler + uppipe on WRX - 99-100 dB
6. Tanabe + uppipe on WRX - 90-92 dB
7. Kakimoto GT 1.0Z + downpipe on WRX - 93-95 dB
8. Borla muffler + custom-catback on brucelee's GC - 92-95 dB
9. Prodrive muffler + up & downpipes - 90-91 dB
Now, I KNOW mine's louder with a downpipe, so now I'm really worried :( I love how it sounds but I have a feeling I can easily get pulled over now! I'd rather not sell it but now I'm having some second thoughts...

93-95 db on a GT1 OZ? LOL!!! No way in hell. It's the loudest exhaust I have ever installed.
I was hoping you'd chime in on this. Maybe their data is fux0red? :)

that's prettly loud sound levels for the human ear.

sound from a major freeway at 150' is 55db.

so my question is, what is stock? we have no control with which to compare all these too.

Were these all measured using the exact same apparatus? If not, I'm thinking there's even more opportunity for error. Regardless, it seems certain that the Nur Spec is just about the loudest muffler available.
