Hey guys, I'm looking to change out my factory exhaust on my 2018 WRX. I'm thinking of a catback or axleback exhaust. I only want to do this if it doesn't require a tune. ive read conflicting reports on this matter. Thanks in advance

Cat back makes no difference to power or ecu calibration. You can install and run. If you install a downpipe/j pipe you will need tuned

Thanks, I appreciate the response! Most of what ive read said no tune is required. i don't want to do anything to void warranty.

Catback exhaust is your best bet. A catback will not require a tune. Technically nothing can "void" your warranty. However, certain modifications and calibrating (tuning) the ecu, will more times than not, result in a warranty claim being denied.

Best thing about just outright buying the catback is that if later on down the road you decide to mod further, say stage 2 and add a J pipe, you will have the catback there to make it a complete turbo back system.
