I'm getting pretty bad MPG on my stock auto WRX, about 17.5 MPG.

If I reset the ECU will it make a difference? I heard that if after the reset I just cruise for the first few miles, the ECU will adapt accordingly. Is this true or B.S.?

My car has about 3800 miles on it. Thanks/

Resetting the ECU will only make the ECU learn how you drive again. The first tank you will have horrible gas milage. After that it should ber normal. I dont know if resetting it will do anything. Maybe dont drive the car hard? I get like 23 and I still have occassional joy rides. But I now just noticed you have a auto. I know auto have worse gas milage but I dont know by how much. But ya go ahead and give it a shot. Remember the first gas tank does not count.
