I have been thinking of getting a dual tip muffler when I upgrade the exhaust. My question is, will I get the same sound as if I got a single tip muffler? Would there be any hp/torque difference between the two? Would the dual tip be just as loud as stock, or would it have the deep boxer growl? Thanks for any help.

Their are ZERO gains to be had from having a dual-tip muffler compared to a single tip one. The sound is all based on the actual muffler. The tip is just how it looks, nothing more. Its one single pipe all the way to the muffler. So splitting into 2 their would make no gains at all.

If you are looking for a nice dual-tip cat-back take a look at bosal. It is very deep sounding. Just add a DP and you have a full turboback.

cool. I didn't think there would be a hp difference, but I just wanted to ask. I was thinking of going with the perrin dp w/cat, and I just looked at the perrin website and they have a catback with a dual tip. Anyone know if that is available yet? The site said ETA sep. 2003.

I'm catless with the bosal dual tip catback...it's LOUD  In fact, two days of running around with it and everyone complaining about it made me take it off. I'm now running the 3" intermediate pipe that came with the exhaust which is bolted up to the stock rear section. I only plan on running the bosal rear section when I go to the track. I wonder if the single tip would be any quieter?

Does Remus make an exhaust for the WRX? I know my friend has one on his BMW M3, very sweet system, sounds great on his inline 6. If they do make one for the Rex, does anyone have one of these systems? Just wondering:)

I had a remus on my last car, an e36 328i. it kicked serious @$$ in the sound and performance department.
