Hey guys I have a friend with a 2009 wrx and his FR outer cv joint clacks on sharp turns. We replaced it with a new masterpro drive axle and it started making noise after about 20 miles so we warrantied it and again it failed in under 100 miles. I’ve been doing a decent amount of research on which brands aren’t complete garbage but am finding mixed reviews. I heard empi axles were the best but seems like they’re no longer in business because I can’t find a working part #. I emailed Raxles for a quote but haven’t received a reply yet. Seems as though cardone is my only viable option but some people say to stay away from those and others say they work fine. Looking @ rockauto the cardone axles are less than $50 which makes me skeptical. What’s the consensus around here?

Also, has anyone tried a heavy duty axle? The one I’m considering is SB8107HD from surtrack /trakmotive. It has the same compressed length as oem but I’m curious as to if it weighs more than the driver’s side will it cause vibrations @ higher speeds

From the local dealer it’s $600 just for the part so I’d like to hear from people who have used aftermarket axles
