I found this unplugged underneath the passenger glove box on my 2013 WRX hatch, and I have no clue what it goes to. When I plug it in the check engine light turns on. I just bought my Subi so i really hope I didn't get scammed into buying a broken car.

They are the test mode connectors - you need to unplug them. All kinds of lights come on and stuff cycles with them connected.

This.. plugging the connectors together puts the car into diagnostic mode to troubleshoot various things. They should be left unplugged unless you're trying to test something or flash the car's ECU with a different map.

See that's what they look like to me too. However, on the newer models they do not have to be connected to flash a map to the ecu like the older subarus. Like everyone else said, unplug them and leave them be. Nothing is wrong with your car.
