Hi all, Search doesnt work from my machine - but please can someone advise on the following as I know its been debated to
death. (or even post lins to threads).

I did a full decat on my PPP MY01 - excluding the down-pipe.
All was fine @ 1.15 bar (16.5 psi) as std on the 01. Then
I changed the downpipe for a twin dump cat-free item. Now
the car gives silly boost - 1.3 bar+ (19 PSI). Its not a spike -
its held. I have only done this briefly 3 times to check - but
there is no boost cut, no timing retard, actually - it seems to
go damn well - but that high boost just cant be good at all. How do I get it back down to a respectable 1.1 bar ? I want to retain
the std ECU boost cut functionality etc as the weather conditions
and fuel available here are from one extreme to the other and want
the std ecu to take care of knock etc... Help. Please.

From your reference to PPP I would assume you are in the UK? (As I have seen reference to it on ScoobyNet) If so, what does PPP actually mean???

Well, this might drive you nuts, but I'm from South Africa where we get both the Prodrive Kit (PPP) and STis. The PPP is a conversion that replaces the center exhaust section (cat), back box (rear axel back) and remaps part of the ECU to raise boost.

I run the Prodrive ECU. I did the 3/16ths mod on the boost solenoid line and experienced the same thing. Did you do any other mods in addition to the downpipe?

Full exhaust,

1) Up pipe (no cats) jigged off of the std item.
2) Down-pipe - a JUN knock off twin dump.
(covers the down pipe and first small section)
3) Std center-rear section.
4) Prodrive back box
5) VF 23 Turbo
6) Removed resonator

Thats all the engine mods

from the sound of it, the chip isn't associating with the new mods. i would pick yourself up a mbc for the meantime and set it to a safe level where you were before), and get the chip remapped to account for the new catless system on the back

I think I'm going to remove the restrictor - so there will
be almost no boost... Then I'll get a spare restrictor and
increase the size .1mm or .05 mm at a time till it responds
correctly.... Have been reading on scoobynet and this
seems to be the best solution.
