i would never put 19" on a subaru. 18x8.5 is the widest i'd go if you want to stick with 18's.

i perfer 17's myself though.

There is so much wrong with this thread...

I'm going to assume that the 2005 was a typo and bugeye is correct. In this case, 8" is the widest you can go without rolling your fenders and doing some serious fitment work. Regarding the 19" wheels... do you have any idea how small your stock brakes will look behind 19" wheels? Wheels that large are ludicrous. The only positive to large-diameter wheels is that you can hide large-diameter brakes. I have an ENORMOUS 330mm Prodrive big brake kit tucked behind only 17" wheels. 19" wheels will make your ride quality worse, increase the chances of a bent wheel from a pothole encounter, and make parallel parking a nerve-wracking experience.

Odd.. my 18x8.5 Rota Torques have no fitment issues on my bugeye. Although I am about to replace them with 17x8 RPF1s for reduced weight and save money on tires.. I would be getting 17x8.5, but even though I have STi hubs they are 04-05 hubs, which are still 5x100.. and they don't make 17x8.5 RPF1s in the 5x100 bolt pattern. :(

8" or 8.5" vs. rubbing - depends on what tire you use either way right?

Sometimes I forget the fender differences between the wagon and sedan. My apologies. 8.5" wheels with 245s will rub on a wagon.

Yeah.. so will certain tires on the sedan. My Falkins do not rub, but my old RE01s did rub slightly.. the tires make a big difference.
