Hey all. So I have a misfiring cylinder caused by a sticky lifter. Not really a big deal because it only misfires when I start the engine cold. So my dealer/mechanic told me I should just rev it to 2000-2500 rpms as SOON as I start it so that my ECU doesn't catch the code. This is all true too. When I let it misfire when starting it in the morning it will catch the code and show a CEL.

What I want to know is....

Is it bad to be revving my engine to 2000-2500 rpms right upon cold start?

Thanks!
