I'm looking at getting a '12 Subaru WRX premium and I wanted to know what would be be to do. Should I got with the SPT Short Throw Shifter or the COBB?
If I go with the COBB do I need to buy any additional parts or can I just buy the short throw shifter?
I just want to know which one would be best and what everyone thinks.

Welcome.

Its up to you what you get.I have the Kartboy shifter. It would be relatively cheaper to get the Kartboy, unless you get a good deal on the STI shifter. The price on the STI shifter is higher as it comes with the linkages unlike the Kartboy that is just the short throw lever.

With either make it would be great to get rear & front shifter stay bushings. They greatly improve the shifting experience.

So if I were to get the COBB would I need bushings?
I'm not very savvy with these things, so I want to make sure I get something that I will like.

You don't HAVE to get the bushings to install the shifter. But it will be a LOT better if you do.

It is the same whether you get the Kartboy or the STI SS.The bushings have to be ordered seperately. But they are not essential for install.

What makes them better than the COBB ones?
If I get the Turn In Concepts, should I get the narrow or wide?

The Cobb shifter is supposed to be double adjustable.Meaning you can adjust the height as well as the length of the throw. The Kartboy SS gives you about 40% reduction in throw.

If you are getting the Super shift kit,you would need the wide pivot bushings.
