Is there anyone changing their oil at home? If so, a few questions:
1- can you change the oil without raising the car?
2- is the oil filter easy to get to?
3- what's the best type of filter wrench to use?
4- any trouble (or cost) with disposing of the oil?
I'm going to change oil at 1500 miles, and switch over to synthetic (Mobil-1, 5w/30). I just wanted to know if there are any issues I need to be mindful of. BY the way, does anyone know a better place to get the oil than at Sam's? I paid $22.00 for six quarts.
regards,
darryl

this isnt answering your question,
but I just wanted to let you know that some people say that an engine needs to be run with dino oil for the first 3 or 4 oil changes (10k or so) in order that all the seals are properly seated etc.
Personally, I dont have a belief either way, just thought I would let you know.
there have been many long debates on this over at i-club. check it out (once i-club is back up....)
