Little history... I installed a TBE a week ago, everything went smoothly. Flashed the ECU with new tune and car started and ran perfectly. Fast forward to today, my friend and I decided to install my VF52 turbo and GrimmSpeed EBCS. We followed all the steps, watching and reading tutorials so none of this would happen. We checked all the plugs, wires, bolts, hoses, etc... to make sure everything was good. Before I tried to start it I flashed the ECU with the correct tune. Now all I get is everything but the actual starting. All the lights, fuel pump, etc but it won't start now. The car is a 08 WRX, any ideas would be appreciated!

That would happen to me the first time after flashing on my 07 whenever I put a new map on it - but it always started the second time.

Have you taken the new tune back off? This is where I would start. I say this because your car would actually start even if you didn't put a turbo on (you will get coolant and oil everywhere though!).

Just curious - why the EBCS? You are running a stock turbo (stock for '11) and stock intercooler.

Is the car stuck in test mode - i.e. what is that fan noise?

Try resetting the ECU. If you can't do it through OBDII just unplug the battery and step on the brakes for a minute.

Can you flash the stock map back on to see if it starts or is the ECU locked up?

Maybe its your car telling you not to use an EBCS without a proper tune.
He claims it has the correct map?

All of what he said, lol. The fans kicking on is an indication that you are in test mode. Did you remember to unplug the reflash connector when you were done?

Yes. The car will be using TP's stage 3.52 tune. I've tried reverting back to an early tune and still nothing. Only thing needed to get into test mode is plugging in the tactrix cable on the 08+.

Could it still be in test mode somehow since the fans are kicking on but my tactirx cable is not plugged in?

Yes. Do the hard reset with the battery unplugged an hold the brakes to drain the last of the power.

Good chance your ECU will need service, sorry.

Any ideas why I'm getting all of these. ECU is not bricked, I somehow managed to clear the test mode, but it came back after I tried a new reflash.

It won't start with the cam position CEL

You must have bumped a major connection in the harness.

Sorry for the late response, after fixing it I was busy the rest of the weekend. All that was needed was to unplug my main harness and plug it back in. I looked at the harness over 20 times, but never tried reseating it.
