I am training launches and one time i made a horrible mistake ,,it was scaring.
I revved it to 4500RPM and sliped the clutch and mashed the gas pedal,,but i slipped my clutch a lot, so the revs went to 8000RPM(HORRIBLE)and there was a burning clutch smell for 5 minutes inside my car.
I think i killed my clutch.
I am planning on 300WHP and i would like to know how much to change the damaged tranny.
I heard with a Chalak synchro gearset i would solve the problem cause its where the tranny breaks when loaded.
Will i only need this part??
I am almost sure i will break it:eek:
But i want power:D

Well your tranny is fine. They are separate parts - the tranny and the clutch. Your clutch is probably fine too - just a little life taken off of it.

Well, clutch glazing may be a problem. It doesn't sound like the kind of systematic abuse that normally leads to glazing, but then, I've heard of glazing occuring in one horribly botched launch.

Tuca, have you noticed your clutch slipping even when it's engaged?

The WRX has a particularly smelly clutch, I've noticed it once or twice while I was getting adjusted to the new clutch engagement point. You're probably okay unless you've noticed that your clutch isn't biting properly anymore...
