That is a sexy car. Do you ever see it around?
I was just in Charleston over the weekend...I didn't see it aroundSame happened to my Bugeye wagon..I sold it to a guy in Charleston, but figured it would show up online, somewhere. I made a concerted search a few months after the sale, but had no luck. Hopefully it's not crushed in a yard, somewhere.
Sad days.Whoa, Clubdub has changed a bunch since I poked my head in here last. What's up Bugeye Mafia?
My bugeye is officially dead. I checked the CarFax on it after I totaled it, and it went to a recycling facility and that was the end.
All the maintenance things. Check for old/cracking vacuum lines and coolant lines. Control arm bushings, engine mounts, diff mounts.. my 02 needed a lot of those over the past few years....what to start with with after a timing belt and water pump?
Thanks for all the advice but I plan on keeping it bone stock and seeing how many miles I can get out of it, no mods (besides suspension and brakes and a few cosmetics) until it needs a new motor and trans, then I'm going to swap in all STI drivetrain! Checking all of the hoses will definitely be next on my checklist, I'm thinking I may do valve cover gasket and spark plugs as well. Just downloaded the factory service manual todayAll the maintenance things. Check for old/cracking vacuum lines and coolant lines. The first step of modding is saving up cash for when it breaks, second is research which is what you're doing here so good job. I'd check for a catted up-pipe, emissions laws allowing swap it for a cat-less up. It'd be good to have a subie enthusiast look it over to help you figure out what's going on with your car currently. I like suspension/brakes and other handling mods, they are always in effect even when you can't safely put your foot down. Creature comforts are good too, radio, speakers(need spacers on the front). Pretty much all the under hood things need a tune so you'll wanna research any under hood/exhaust mod you do. The up-pipe one is pretty safe but over-boosting spikes are possible, cat slows down the flow a little.
