I hear all these people talk good things about the "WRX BOXER ENGINE"
I have a 2017 which is the FA20.

Is there really a large difference between another 4 cylinder and the 4 cylinder boxer engine.
Also if i were to get a nameless muffler delete for example. Would this muffler delete sound louder than another 4 cylinder that got a muffler delete.

Conventional wisdom used to be that boxers are "naturally-balanced", (the movement of the pistons cancels out), so less vibration, and that the design provided for a lower center of gravity, which could aid handling in the vehicle.

Beyond that, a lot of us appreciated the "boxer rumble", a sound that was notably different from a whiny inline four. That, of course, is subject..and no long applies for the newer cars. My BRZ and your WRX now come with equal length exhausts, so not much rumble to speak of.

I don't know that your car would be any louder than any other 4 cylinder. You really want a muffler delete? My car with the 4 inch axleback is plenty loud. My VW-based sandrail had no muffler..but you know...it was a sandrail. :)

Muffler deletes sound like you have an exhaust problem. They are loud, and cheap. Sound cheap too.

If you're willing to spend a little more $, a CBE w/ a resonator will give you a deeper tone and some semblance of 'rumble' without the drone. I wouldn't recommend a muffler delete either.
Yeah, even my axleback restored something that remotely reminded me of a rumble. Not quite the same thing as I had in my WRX, though.

I want something loud for cheap. After watching some youtube videos i came to the conclusion that the muffler delete should be best for me LMAO.
It's going to sound loud and cheap. EJ motors with unequal length headers are the only motors where muffler deletes sound decent. Yours will be an obnoxious rasp factory on your brand new car. Don't do it, man.

I have the nameless muffler delete, with the neo chrome tips. And to be honest with you i love the sound. Its not whiny. And it doesnt drone either. Granted, you should know that of course u get no power gains from an axleback but that doesnt mean you cant enjoy a the extra volume and crackles and pops this exhaust gives the car.

Now i know that you dont get the rumble from the new fa20 but i would venture to say that you still get a deeper tone from the fa than most conventional 2 liters. (ie: civic si)

And in terms of the drone that people talk about. I dont hear much of it if at all. On the highway if youre slightly on power just cruising. You will hear the engine but its not loud to where it gets annoying. All of my friends are v8 guys and i used to be one too and they always tell me that they love the sound of this exhaust. And also doing quick 1-2 shift, or a pull will hive you some nice pops in between shifts. (Good ones too, not the onnoxiously loud explosion pops)
