Just installed mine and good friggin' lord is it loud! My car sounds like it's pissed off now! I might have to put the silencer in 'cause it just totally rumbles...you can totally feel the 80mm pipe that runs all the way to the cat. Pics and more impressions soon!

More impressions and a question...

I drove around tonight and noticed a few things:

1. The idle is LOUD. It's like there's a bus parked in my driveway while the turbo timer is counting down.

2. Opening the car up into WOT is absolutely beautiful. It sounds like my friend's Skyline when it accelerates now (but obviously not as fast...hehe).

3. Once you reach cruising speed, you actually barely notice it's there. On the freeway, it actually seemed like it was more quiet than the rear section alone...perhaps because it's less restricted now?

4. The car literally rumbles now. I can feel it rumbling on the gas pedal, on the armrest extension...even the steering wheel. It's not like it shakes or anything like that...it's just a nice "Holy $#17" rumble.

5. The throttle is a lot more responsive now, although it could also be helped by the Samco hoses I installed at the same time. It feels more like how it felt when I still had my Blitz SUS intake installed. Before, with just the hacked intake silencer, I'd have to mash the gas at least to about 15-20% to feel it start moving, but now, a little tap with my toe is enough.

Now, my question is...since it is super-loud now...has anyone gotten pulled over for having a loud exhaust, either on a WRX or another car? How loud is loud enough for cops to pull you over? I've got a silencer for it, so should I need to, I can put it on...but I really do love how it sounds right now. Any thoughts?

Nice... :) I want some rumble, but I don't think I want it "bus" rumble loud. :)

As for the cops, it depends on your state / city / etc. Some places have noise ordinances for vehicles, and a loud muffler could violate this. Check with your local law enforcement agency.

Beautiful exhaust, Armin! Not too ricey, but looks SUPER LOUD. Fortunately, turbos are great mufflers and Subarus never sound like a Honda on the second cam.

Thanks Jim :) Yeah, it's super loud all right...I'm hoping to get a video clip of it sometime this week in the unusual Seattle sunshine!

As far as sounding like Hondas, I remember last weekend at the Import Jam show here, iv30 (Ivan), a few other Scooby owners, and I were all sitting around talking and then we heard an exhaust...all our heads turn and Ivan says "That's a Scooby!" so we all stand up and see a white Rex going up the street. Gotta love that boxer engine sound!

Beautiful exhaust Verdugo, it looks sweet. Are you running an aftermarket downpipe? How about cats? How is the fitment? Is it rattling against anything underneath? Sorry for all the questions but I'm trying to narrow down a couple different exhausts and I really love the look of the Blitz.

Thanks :) No downpipe yet, but as soon as I save up some money, I'm going to get a USDM Godspeed downpipe. Dan says it should fit just fine :) I still have two cats left. The fitment is really good...even better than the Nur Spec rear section I had...doesn't rattle against anything at all, but you might have problems clearing the rear differential protector if you have one (which I don't).

Thanks Armin, that sounds like it will work out perfectly for me. I'm looking for that rumble that you have. That thing is really going to roar once you get the downpipe and those cats out of the way.

No problem at all :) Yeah I think I'm getting used to how loud it is now...but once the downpipe's in...oh boy...hehe

Btw there's a few more pics that I didn't post here on my ImageStation: http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4291738263
