What’s up so I’m new to subies but I’ve always liked them, I got a 2018 WRX STI about 3 months ago and I’ve wanted to do stuff to it and just started so I wanna get opinions on what I’m gonna do. Right now I just have an Invidia Q300 Catback Exhaust and a COBB Accessport with a stage 1 91oct LwG map, I plan on getting a downpipe, oil air separator and bigger tune for now I wanted a cold air but someone told me I couldn’t run a cold air and downpipe on stock injectors because it would max out the injector cycle, is this true? And what are some other things that would be good to do to it.

Pretty sure you can do an intake and Jpipe with stock injectors. I would get with a reputable tuner in your area and see what they suggest and work out a plan.
They are correct. You will be out of fueling on the new sti. Both mods will require a tune, separate or together. It isn't optional. Good luck enjoy the car

You can DO whatever you want. The STI has been fuel limited with even basic mods for quite some time. Even on the old B25 (single-AVCS) heads, by stage 2 the STI would run higher-than-optimal IDCs.

The 2015+ STI has been shown to hit higher load than all previous STIs in several independent tests. The reason for this isn't well understood -- some believe the Turbocharger was updated while others think that it has something to do with the newer exhaust routing. Regardless, it is in your best interest to upgrade the fuel system even if you only change out the downpipe.

Here was Cobb's statement on the matter:

Your experience and knowledge seems to be limited to the newer platform.

Woah, I missed the "STI" part. I was speaking about the straight WRX. I dont know why but my brain seems to ignore "STI" sorry
I’m prob gonna do a j pipe and pass on the intake for now pretty low goal but I’m wanting to do enough stuff to get it into the low 12s for now then shoot for low 11s and thanks for the input everyone much appreciated
Btw with my Subie with catback exhaust, BPV, COBB AP and If I get a J pipe with stage 2 tune, is an air oil separator needed, also with that set of mods will I need to worry about anything blowing/giving out on my car? Will a stock clutch be able to handle launching here and there if I’m racing, drive train etc? What would be the first thing to break on my car
You don't have a J-pipe...

I don't think an aos is a dire necessity. I would personally save and put that money away in case the engine goes or you get enough for a stouter fuel system.

I won't say that. However the ej257 has had some particular problems that have plagued it for some time.

why did you buy an STI to drag race?
assuming you're discussing drag racing since you mentioned getting into the 12s and 11s

I didn’t buy it to drag race I bought it because I love subies and where I live I also have multiple tracks so I can take it to them and actually use it, I also have a few drag strips where I live and also love going to those and I know the sti can get low 13s stock so I figured shooting for 12s won’t be too difficult so why not have fun in both areas
